Cold-blooded or big hearted?

Frogs may be a cold-blooded species but we have always been a giving kind of bunch. This week sees us at the beginning of a new journey as we sponsor a charitable group for the first time in our 17 year history - the Mummies Paying It Forward group.

Earlier this year, the Frog family began volunteering our time to help sort through donations handed in from all over Sydney to the Mummies Paying It Forward group. Even our youngest tadpole of four years joins in the fun by sorting through kids clothes, toiletries and food…you get the idea.

This week sees us Frogs enter into a sponsorship arrangement with Mummies Paying It Forward to enable them to continue their magical work – helping those that are the most vulnerable in our community – including the homeless, women and families fleeing domestic violence as well as asylum seekers to name a few.

Normally Frog Removals would give in silence, but we just can’t keep quiet about this amazing organisation born through social media by a Sydney mother of four; Fatma Elzein.

If you haven’t come across the Mummies Paying It Forward group yet, here are some interesting facts:

  • the group started out with a small number of friends and has grown into a community of over 12,000 members solely aimed at helping those in need within the community
  • they support local not-for-profit charities based on their current needs
  • anyone can donate new or pre-loved items to drop off points all over Sydney – these drop off points are the homes of volunteers
  • donations are delivered to storage facilities around Sydney where volunteers sort through the items and deliver them to local charities – people that genuinely need them and no donation is ever re-sold
  • charities supported include Dandelion Support Network, Barnados, Rough Threads, Friends with Dignity, Asylum Seekers Centre and many more
  • monthly drives are promoted to specifically meet the current needs of a particular local charity (this month’s drive is for sanitary items for women who would normally need to ‘improvise’)

Now, we’ve been moving people long enough to see the enormous challenges people face year after year. In fact, we’ve completed 3672 moves to date!

Did you know some of our clients include Domestic Violence NSW, the Department of Family and Community Services, Women’s Health NSW and St John of God? Over time we have supported numerous charities too including the Rural Fire Service, the Red Cross, Lion’s Club and The World’s Greatest Shave. The Frog crew have been helping the most vulnerable of households for many years and we couldn't be happier with the sponsorship opportunity that presented itself so naturally with Mummies Paying It Forward!

We love the simple yet effective concept of Mummies Paying It Forward as well as the balanced and un-biased mix of women's, men's, family, refugee, employment and literacy charities supported by them. We love how easy it is for anyone to donate and get involved and feel a part of something that really makes a difference in the communities we live in. We love that Fatma has taken all the hard work out of figuring out how to help people that are truly struggling in our community. We love the group’s work so much that we are prepared to show you our big hearts and sponsor them to ensure they remain here to assist individuals and struggling families in need, tomorrow and forever.

Take the time to get to know them and find out their story by visiting their website www.mummiespayingitforward.com/who-we-are or joining their Facebook group.

Lots of warm frog-fuzzies,

Vesna & Danny.
